De Frutos will not be a signing for Getafe CF
The path of Levante UD and the footballer George Fruits will remain linked, at least, until January. At the close of the market, a satisfactory agreement was not reached between all the parties so that the Navares of the Middle could end up at Getafe CF. The insistence of those from the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez were constant throughout the summer, but finally and to the delight of the sporting pretensions of the azulgranas to fight more seriously for promotion, the ’18’ will not abandon the dean’s discipline for now of the Valencian Community.
It began on the day of the starting point of the offer received on August 31, the last official from Getafe. A total of ten million euros, with no bonus involved, was the amount presented. If you accept it, Levante had to share 50% of the profits with Real Madrid, by having the footballer’s sports rights halfway, so only five ‘kilos’ would be received in the coffers of Granota. Some “insufficient” amounts, as appealed Felipe Miñambres in previous press conferences during these last months, considering De Frutos as one of the important men of the project, as he himself had corroborated with his numbers during these two seasons in the First Division.
Juanma Lopez, the representative of the extreme right, appeared at the facilities of the Ciutat de València in order to bring positions closer and that a mutual agreement could be reached, between the claims of one and the other. Getafe, during the day of September 1, did not exceed ten million euros. Levante, for its part, remained firm in its position and continued to refer to the twelve million at which it valued De Frutos.
However, in the middle of the afternoon, from Levante discipline a counteroffer was launched to Getafeseeing that their intentions were not to increase the figures either, despite wanting the footballer, in which everyone could benefit from an agreement.
As SUPER was able to confirm, Levante considered accepting those ten million, as long as De Frutos remained in Orriols until June, on loan. From then on, the footballer would go to the Spanish capital, to put himself under the orders of Quique Sánchez Flores and return to compete in the First Division. In that case, the Valencian team made sure to have at least for a few extra months with an essential piece in their schemes and bring it closer to the goal of promotion, the azulones would see fulfilled the desire to have one of their first and priority objectives throughout the market and the attacker would have the option to continue competing in the highest category of LaLiga.
Despite the fact that the hours passed and a firm response was not obtained from Getafe, which seriously considered accepting the latest claims, the entity chaired by Ángel Torres did not end up accepting the counteroffer launched by Levante UD.
In this way, and after the last departure of Gonzalo Melero to Almería, the Segovian will continue to fulfill his relationship as a Granota player. His contract expires in 2025 and this will be his third league campaign defending the Barça colors.
Since arriving at the Ciutat in the summer of 2020, in exchange for 2.5 million euros from Real Madrid, De Frutos has played 68 official matches as a granota, in which he has scored eight goals and provided nineteen assists. In fact, in the year of his debut, he was one of the revelations of the First Division and finished in the top 5 of maximum assistants.
