Sekou Gassama claims to have seen “Racing well in the first three days, they deserved more”
Striker Sekou Gassama, who joined Racing yesterday from Real Valladolid (he arrives on loan until June 30, 2023), assured that he was “well, with confidence. Last year I had physical problems so I couldn’t do preseason, this summer I was able to do it and I feel very good physically, wanting to contribute”, he explained. The Verdiblanco footballer, who has completed the complete preparation with the Valladolid team -he was their top scorer- and made his debut this campaign in the First Division, explained that “he had several options”, but that he opted for Racing for being “a historic” and thanks to the “project” presented by Mikel Martija.
Gassama also revealed that he has already spoken with Guillermo Fernández Romo and that the coach has asked him to “be myself, to exploit my virtues and to add on and off the field so that the team can move forward.” About his teammates , the new Verdiblanco striker said he felt “motivated. There are very good strikers like Matheus and Cedric, we will maintain a healthy competition”.
The Verdiblanco sports director, Mikel Martija, who acted together with Víctor Diego (director of institutional and sports relations) as the player’s host, wanted to thank Sekou for his bet since “he had more options”. “I think that for Racing he is a very good addition, because he is a striker profile that we did not have in the squad”, he concluded.
