Logitech G502 X, the renewal of one of the most popular gaming mice now comes with optical switches and USB-C

Logitech has finally updated its famous line of gaming mice G502. The new ones G502X maintain the essence of their predecessors but with switch improvements and finally with a USB-C connection on wireless models.

Specifically, Logitech announced the G502X, G502X LIGHTSPEED and G502X PLUS which, as a major novelty, integrate optical-mechanical hybrid switches. The technology is called LIGHTFORCE and will take advantage of the capabilities of optical switches, such as speed and reliability, while maintaining the feel of a mechanical switch. According to the company, this technology “combines the benefits of optical switches with the significant actuation feel of mechanical switches.”

Slight improvements in appearance, but with better performance

The appearance of these G502 X will remain almost intact compared to its predecessors, but improvements are added such as a redesigned DPI change button and a lighter scroll wheel which still takes advantage of the two modes: infinite scroll or step by step.

Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED

Around sensor specifics, Logitech integrated the Hero 25K with 25,600 dpi which, according to the company, is up to 68% faster than the previous generation.

The G502 X model is wired, while the G502 X LIGHTSPEED is wireless and will take advantage of the LIGHTSPEED protocol with which you can connect with another compatible device to the same receiver. The G502 X PLUS model is still wireless but includes as its main additional feature a RGB lighting customizable via LIGHTSYNC RGB.

The USB-C connector for charging is another novelty of the wireless models, which in fact can work for up to 140 hours on a single charge (the LIGHTSPEED model) and for 120 hours the PLUS model without active RGB.

All three models will be lighter compared to the previous generation and can now also be found in white.
