Russian cosmonauts walk into outer space outside the space station in orbit over Brazil

On November 17, two Russian cosmonauts ventured outside the International Space Station (ISS) for a nearly seven-hour spacewalk. The walk was held for some hardware transfers and electronic connections on the International Space Station.

In the video shared by the space station on Instagram, the astronauts are seen walking in space. However, they appear to be floating as Earth is visible in the background.

Sharing the video on the social media platform, they wrote: “Cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin conducted the first of four Russian maintenance spacewalks planned before the end of the year on November 17, 2022, as the station orbited 260 miles above the coast of Brazil . The Roscosmos duo prepared a radiator on the Rassvet module for installation of the Nauka multifunctional laboratory module.

According to NASA, it was the third spacewalk of Mr. Prokopiev’s career and the first for Mr. Petelin. This was the station’s tenth spacewalk in 2022 and the 255th assembly, maintenance, and upgrade spacewalk for the space station.

The space agency also added that Mr. Prokopiev and Mr. Petelin completed their primary mission, preparing a radiator on the Dawn module for installation on the Nauka multipurpose laboratory module.

Since it was shared, the post has garnered over 4.3 lakh views and 96,000 likes. Many users were stunned to see the view from space.
