Sales of plug-in hybrid cars in Spain closed the month of August 2022 positively. 2,781 units have been recorded, a volume of registrations that, compared to that registered in the same period of the previous year, translates into a growth of 3.08%. Lynk & Co has been the most prominent brand.
The plug-in hybrid car has put an end to the poor results it had been reporting. In the past month of August 2022 the sales of plug-in hybrid cars in Spain have reached the 2,781 units. A volume of registered vehicles that, compared to that registered in the same period of time the previous year, represents a growth of 3.08%.
The market share of the plug-in hybrid vehicle has reached 4.44% during the month of August. The plug-in hybrid technology (PHEV) stays ahead of the battery electric car. As for the accumulated sales figures, they present an equally positive result. Among January and August registrations of plug-in hybrid cars accumulated 30,528 units, 17.83% more than in 2021.
Regarding the plug-in hybrid passenger car registrations, there are hardly any differences with respect to the figures detailed above. Practically all plug-in hybrid vehicles registered in Spanish territory are passenger cars. In August, 2,773 plug-in hybrid cars were registered, 2.97% more than in the same month of 2021. And between January and August, 30,189 units were registered, which represents a rise of 16.78%.

What have been the most outstanding models? The ranking of the 10 best-selling plug-in hybrid cars in Spain during August it presents very interesting novelties. Now, there is nothing new in the model that leads sales. The Lynk & Co 01 has achieved a new victory. The result has been overwhelming and now it has in its sights the best-selling plug-in hybrid so far this year, the Peugeot 3008.
In second position has been the Hyundai Tucson and, closing the podium, in third place, we have the KIA Sportage. At the gates of the podium is the Mercedes GLA, whose sales have undergone a strong boost compared to the same month last year. Also noteworthy is the performance of the KIA Niro, whose recent generational change is encouraging registrations.

The 10 best-selling plug-in hybrid cars in Spain in August 2022
The Peugeot 3008, one of the benchmark plug-in hybrids, has been relegated to eighth position. Also striking is the absence of the Ford Kuga in this Top 10.
