Sony not only looks towards the PC and seeks to gain ground on mobile devices

Last week a new acquisition flew over the industry, in this case that of Electronic Arts by Amazon. Once that possibility has been ruled out, now we do have confirmation that Sony has taken the wallet out for a walk.

And it is that Savage Game Studios will be the next developer to join the list of PlayStation Studios. Hermen Hulst has announced through the company blog that the agreement is final and it is a truly important movement.

And it is that although Sony has focused great efforts on consolidating its path towards the PC field, now it wants to do the same with mobile devices. The Helsinki and Berlin-based studio is working on a title AAA for mobilewhich is action-focused and game-as-a-service features.

However, Hulst has indicated that PlayStation Studios will now have its own mobile division, which will work independently of PS5. His goal will be to create new experiences related to Sony franchises.

Regarding the agreement, the executive director and co-founder of SavageGameStudiosMichail Katkoff, has made clear the reasons for signing the firm for the purchase of the company.

“We made this deal because we believe the leadership at PlayStation Studios respects our vision of how we can work better and be successful, and because they’re not afraid to take risks either. It’s because of all of that, plus the ability to potentially tap into the incredible catalog of PlayStation IP and the fact that we will benefit from the kind of support that only they can provide… The hardest question to answer would be “why not?”

Regarding the figures of the purchase, the doubt remains in the air, since the data has not been disclosed. We also have no name or date for the game Savage Game Studios is working on, so we have to wait.
