This medicine has been withdrawn from the market due to an “out of specification result in the valuation, hardness and related substances tests”. It is a drug used to treat hypertension and symptomatic heart failure in patients with asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction. Specifically, the affected batch is 499R, with an expiration date of July 31, 2023, from which all distributed units have been withdrawn.
Enalapril tablets contain an active substance called enalapril maleate. It belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors).
